JackBox with the Class

Played some JackBox with the class today. The first game we played was Champ’d Up. You get a character prompt and you have to draw it. Next you will get a character that someone else has drawn and you have to draw an antagonist for that character. The atmosphere is certainly different when playing in a class setting than when playing with close friends because many of the players were strangers. I’m not sure why this is, but for some reason when playing these types of games with my friends, they do a good job of paying attention to the prompt; whereas with randoms, it’s just whatever on a whim. Not as fun if I’m gonna be honest.

There weren’t all that many people in the class when we played so there was no audience. I don’t really think it would have made much of a difference in this case since it’s unlikely they would even say anything or make any impact on the game. It might have been specifically the mechanics of the game that didn’t allow for much audience interaction; maybe another game like Bidiots could have a bit more interaction as they could try to deduce what the most valuable art piece is and shout it out.
